Driven by a singular desire and a very creative background, Nani established nanimarquina in 1987 with a clear goal: to design unique and surprising handcrafted rugs for people to enjoy.
I have been collaborating with nanimarquina since the end of 2014; I was recommended by Covelo & Co. A new web had been created and it was fundamental to refresh all content. This was a very large project that needed careful consideration and time as the web contains a great deal of information.
First it was necessary to discuss brand values, tone, and style to ensure that the message would flow throughout the different web sections. I had to extensively research rug manufacture, both commercial and traditional, to better understand the unique artisan techniques that are used for each nanimarquina rug. I talked to various team members, experts in fibres and design processes to grasp every detail. Once I felt I had all the requisite information, it was time to sit down and write the new texts for the web and mini-brochures.
Since then, I now collaborate with the brand on a monthly basis, carrying out translations for the News section of the web, press releases for new collections, and even ended up acting as interpreter during an interview between Nani Marquina and the Wall Street Journal.
