Ohhhhh ... Dizzy, overwhelming ... A difficult repertoire to assimilate, master.
I especially like "Josep Valls" (surprising that strum), "Tamayo" and "Hector Valduzzi".
@Joaqu Domínguez And ... yes ...! overwhelming is to say a little ... they scare me too ... what you see is a small part of the whole ... and there is a longer list than my arm of orders (all great of course ...) it is going to be done ... and do not try to assimilate them, not one of them can be extrapolated ... the 3 you chose are almost the most veteran,
Josep Valls, a boy who worked with me in the 80's, Tamayo, the Tamayo brothers, from the Tamayo Stationery in San Sebastián, great friends who used to sing me in vazcuence choir on the phone, and Hector Balduzzi, my first laboratory worker here in Spain , great sculptor ... keep telling me things ... that I will answer ... Ric.
Always a few years ago that I discovered your work, the ex-libris have left me with my mouth open, now I am lucky to have on the wall of my studio the poster that you sent me with some of them who are also here in this project . I really want to start the course and make my own ex-libris at last and it is a huge luck to be able to do it under your tutelage Ricardo, greetings.
@misterkams ... and when I say under my tutelage, it's as if it helps you in every millimeter ... even if you don't need it ... it's very difficult to teach the abstract ... and you know it ... as if you ask to a blind man who describes the color green to you ... I included this guarangada of putting so many, because you never know ... there, looking at them, maybe inspiration comes to you ... who tells you that the gift of what comes to you What to do with the curlers ... which way do they go? ... how many are enough? ... nobody knows ... my technique is to draw them tiny in a little notebook that I have, first the case, or geometric shape or of whatever ... then (and I explain it again), I center the, or the words (usually names) and add the Ex Libris tagline to my air ... in the space that remains to be filled, I try to not using the usual rubric (for not repeating myself) and I enter to give, sometimes using the ascendants and descendants as generators of actions for all sides ... many spirals and taking care that the curves are pristine (this goes to mass) Capital letters help a lot, especially if they are R, G, S, or those that are beautiful ... nothing can be done with W, V, X and Y ... or Yes, it depends ... There are millions of Ex Bookshelves in the whole wide world ... few dare with calligraphic ones, there are also, I have a small collection of examples, most of them carved in Linoleum ... to the purists Of the Ex Libris, they are not usually cool with typographic or lettering ... you can see that they think they are low class ... that it is better to put a skull or a mine in balls ... that makes libraries gloomy spaces. .. I bet on joy, Calligraphic Ex Libris are the Rock and Roll of libraries ... okay?
