Introduction
Introduction
On the floor plan below, two rooms were “furnished” in a way that I saw fit (according to my understanding of Feng Shui), and taking in consideration not only the command position, but also the “clients” lifestyle and budget. The rooms were the living and family rooms.

The clients, minimalists, wished to keep the furniture they already had. The couple likes to entertain but would rather do so in the kitchen/family room. An office was needed for one the clients, who occasionally works from home. Therefore, the living room was made into an office.

As you enter the house, you walk into the foyer. The office is on the right: the desk and chair were placed in the command position (the wall protecting the back and an open diagonal view of who is coming through the door). On the right of the desk, a small bookcase can be easily accessed. On the left of the desk, a tall potted plant receives sunlight in the morning and gives more life/energy to the room. On the left corner, across from the desk, a lamp was added to brighten up the room at night.
In the family room, the fireplace occupies what would be the best position in the room for the main couch; therefore, the second best in my view would be to the left, as you walk into the room from the foyer/hallway. Again, this wall protects the back of the couch, while the loveseat across from it has its back to the window. To make the couch a more prominent piece of furniture in the family room, two floor lamps were added, one on each side. Also, a pleasant artwork was placed above the couch, and a rug on the floor. Finally, a round coffee table was placed in the center of the room to keep the energy flowing.
Note: The yellow arrows indicate which direction the Chi would enter the house, while the dashed ones show the flow of energy throughout the house.
