Introduction
🇬🇧
😊 Hello everyone, and welcome!
Inspired by my daily life as a Mom, and passionate about illustrated albums for children, I took advantage of this opportunity to invent a character that we can identify with, and thus convey a message with humor and tenderness. To accompany the illustration, and to present my character, I wrote a short story that you can read below ;)

Fournitures
🇬🇧
🖌️ I chose the traditional technique as my technique.
I really like drawing with a pencil on paper, using paint, gouache, colored pencils.
I like the authentic side where you can't "undo". It forces me to concentrate better and draw mindfully. To appreciate the experience, the material... For me, it's like a meditation that fills me with joy.
The texture that it produces gives a warmer aspect too I find, more realistic, alive!

🇬🇧
❤️ I am a big fan of his illustrators:
Quentin BLAKE
Jean-Jacques SEMPE
Richard SCARRY
Mary BLAIR
they inspire me, and I found that their style fit well with the character of my character and his story...
I also chose an old sketch that I had done some time ago that immediately made me think of the style that I want to give to my character.
My daily life, my life as a Mom with my son who is in his "rebel" period is also a great source of inspiration ^^

🇫🇷

English version of the story
When Mr. Gilbert BALL was a little boy
He always had a naughty ploy
His parents too proud and overly kind
Refused to ever say No, you’ll find
They let him be to avoid confrontations
And never took any actions.
Years went by and from this kind of parenting
Poor Gilbert learned nothing.
Spoiled and selfish, he had just one friend:
A goldfish, he wishes he could hold in his hand
This poor little fishy, called Arnold
Swam round and round in its fishbowl.
As an adult Gilbert became grumpy and dower
With a heart as cold as an icy tower
That Mr. BALL! What a bore!
A temper like thunder and manners so poor
A polite word? Oh, never! A thank you. Not ever!
That’s what neighbours would claim feeling clever.
But one day, at last, someone dared to say NO.
It was Miss Suzy SNOW,
With a sweet smile and a natural glow,
Stood her ground and declared no means no.
No, No? How dare you to say no to ME!
Shouted Gilbert, his mind in a frenzy.
But then he looked into her sparkling eyes
And caught her scent of vanilla and lemon pies
As she kept smiling saying, No!
A new feeling began to grow,
At first came the butterflies in his belly
His heart all a flutter and legs like jelly.
For the first time someone had told him No,
But kindly and firmly to soften the blow.
That day Gilbert learned something new,
Saying No can be a gift that says I love you.
Then beneath his bushy moustache,
Came the sign of a smile, just a flash.
From then on, Gilbert became a new man,
With a kinder heart and a bright future to plan.

beautiful work. which courses in domestika specifically inspired you? thanks
pattes_de_velours_and_co
@skanda8989 A very big thank you for your message :)
Without hesitation, the courses that inspired me the most, and above all, that taught me to "let go", to no longer have blockages even if I am not satisfied with my drawings, are the two courses from EdVill.
He is great, explains very well, does a lot of demonstrations, and insists on the fact that the main thing is to have fun, and not to do something "beautiful".
