I made a chart for all of my colors and began to choose my palate for my final project.

Marco instructed us to color, using small boxes, so we could give equal attention to each part of the project.

I used more than seven colors as Marco suggested, but had a wonderful time blending the pencils!

Marco instructed us to pick an animal, meaningful to us, taking into consideration its symbolic meaning. I chose a sheep because it is quite often used in the Bible to convey various aspects of Christianity. Jesus is referred to as the perfect sinless sacrifice, "the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world". Because of His willing sacrifice on the cross, those who believe are made new and their sins are forgiven. Followers of Jesus are also referred to as sheep because He is the good shepherd who protects and cares for His sheep. The sheep know His voice and they follow Him. I also added a bramble of vines with thorns to symbolize the crown of thorns Jesus wore when he was crucified. My sheep is connected and intertwined with these thorns because throughout the struggles of our lives, as we remain connected to Jesus, He will faithfully lead us when we simply trust Him and obey His word. My final project is entitled "Trust" for this reason.

Marco gave us lots of tips and exercises to help us to work with colored pencils and improve our illustration skills. Thank you, Marco, for teaching this course!
