I really enjoyed learning. I've been drawing and painting my whole life and I'm passionate about the fantastic and heroic world, but my talent is limited and this course taught me a lot. I usually paint with little detail and depth, and on this project I really outdid myself. I decided to keep the idea of the cloudy background because I have absolutely no idea how to make clouds and I wanted to learn. I still have a lot to learn, and by posting the project I realize what I could have improved more, but I'm actually very proud of the result, a great first!

Hi Cris,
I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed the course, and I am very happy to see the result and all the various stages. I think it looks great, and it's very obvious that you followed the different steps perfectly. It's a great looking bird with good detail, and a nice little drama too.
I hope you will continue to experiment more with the techniques you have learnt - and maybe next time you can consider the tonal values, to make the subject stand out more from the background. If you had made the bird a little bit darker and the sky a little bit brighter it would have made the silhouette stand out a little more, and would have made the image even stronger. Having said that, you should definitely be very proud of achieving this lovely result!
very nice achievement :)
@ejsing Hello Jesper, thank you very much for your message. I could have actually worked on the bird more but I complicated the task by wanting to make an albino crow, I had no idea how to increase the shading without it appearing gray. I should practice more on the colors of shadows and lights. Thank you again for your message and your course, plus this final project is in the top 5 creations for the month of April and I am very proud of it ✨
@matijavukartist87 Thank you very much ✨
@cris_kratt In that case, to emphasise that the bird is white / bright, it might also be possible to make the sky even darker behind it, or give it some nice high lights maybe. The idea is more a tonal difference between the subject and the background, than having it in a specific way. But this is all part of the experience you get through painting - considering what colour palette and tonal range that works for your subject and your intentions for it. It's not always easy... not for me either!
