Film director: Simone Gallucci
Creative idea & Production: Sr Goldwind & MKTGSPAIN
Sound Design: The Lobby.

This is the storyboard I made for an award ceremony for the most outstanding YouTubers called "YouTube Works Awards," the EventoPlus Grand Jury Prize 2023.
The first gala ever filmed and broadcasted live...in a sequence shot!
Film director: Simone Gallucci
Creative idea & Production: Sr Goldwind & MKTGSPAIN
Sound Design: The Lobby.
Este es el proceso de mi trabajo:
1. PRIMER CONTACTO:

1. FIRST CONTACT:
Once we received an email from the advertising agency with a written script attached, we set up a meeting via Google Meet.
2. APPOINTMENTS:
In this online meeting, the director and his assistant explained the general idea written in the script, i.e., what happens from the beginning to the end of the awards gala. The storyboard then serves as a guide, a "map" for the entire production team to know what should happen, in what sequence, what kind of lighting there will be, which characters enter and leave the scene, and what "acting."i.e., what action do they perform in each?
Shot: what should be the cuts, framing, camera movements, etc.
While the director was explaining the script, I drew the notes very quickly, very simply, without worrying about the anatomy of the characters, without details or shadows, the well-known "four lines," that is, a simple drawing but that is enough for the director and me to understand how the narrative will be. This is a teamwork. The director has some ideas in his mind. If you are an excellent storyboard artist, you can bring new ideas to improve the narrative plan, unique shots, and more exciting framing, ultimately improving the film. If you do that, clients will be happy with you and call you back for future projects.
3. REFERENCES:
Once the meeting is over, the storyboard artist has in his hands all the notes approved by the director and will start looking for exhaustive photographic references (this is my way of working; there are storyboard artists that don't do it so much, but I like to have good references because they increase the level of the work) for each of the elements that appear in the notes. For example, a sketch asks for a close-up of a lamppost with a young woman next to it. Then, the storyboard artist will look for a photograph of a back shot of a streetlight and another shot of a young woman standing. Usually, getting a photo that has the lamppost and the girl in the same perspective can be difficult. But that's where the storyboard artist comes in, who will harmonize the photos that often have different views, the same light, etc.
4. ROUGHS:
In the case of YouTube Awards 2023, as there were many vignettes and little time, I decided to skip cropping the photos and Photoshop editing, a process in my course "Storyboard Illustration with Procreate" called "Basic Digital Compositions." So, I added details to the notes while looking at the photo references on my iMac screen. This process is called "Rough" and aims to improve the anatomy and expressions of the characters using the photographs; the drawing is still "dirty," with many lines that seek to model the shapes of all the elements.
5. CONTOUR LINES
Once all the "Roughs" are finished, we start to "pass to clean"; that is to say, we trace the dirty roughs with a lovely and expressive line, in short, the final drawing.
6. GRAY
When we have all the drawings with precise contours and well done, we create a layer called "Gray," where we will fill the images with gray masses, lighter and more expressive.
With masses of gray, light, and dark to create a unique atmosphere for each of the vignettes. It is very clearly noticeable that I represented the light cannons from the ceiling directed toward the characters in almost all the vignettes of this storyboard.
7. SEND
Having finished the stage of grays and shadings, it is enough to make the shipment. We go to WeTransfer and send all the work in the same Photoshop document, with layers, in which each vignette has a folder with a numerical sequence: Vignette 1, 2, 3, and so on.

Thanks Jorge
Since this storyboard was a project with many storyboard vignettes and little time, I did not have enough time to make photographic montages, as I taught you in the course. So everything is drawn using photographic references and freehand.

¡Trabajó/ dibujos buenisimo!
Very inspiring storyboards!! That Dry Ink/ Tinta Seca brush is my favourite. Going to create grey scale palette based on your illustrations.

Hello Dietrich Adonis (Ordoñez)!
@d_adonis
Thank you so much for your review! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed my work and found the storyboards inspiring. The "dry ink" is interesting to me as it closely resembles the texture of a pencil on thick paper. It has a bit of a film-like texture, which adds to its uniqueness. It's exciting to know that you plan to create a grayscale palette based on my storyboards! It's not complicated; you just need to synthesize color masses into 5 shades: white (0% black), light gray (25% black), medium gray (50% black), dark gray (75% black), and black (100% black). With this palette, you can achieve various effects.
I truly appreciate your support and positive words. Thanks again, and I hope you have an amazing day!
Best regards,
