Lisbon's spirit

It is hard to show the soul of Lisbon. There are well-known landmarks, Belem tower, St. George's castle, Rossio square etc. What I want to show is something behind these. Something new, what this city means to me. River Tejo, which is the umbilical cord to the Atlantic ocean, and my favourite spot to sit there and just listen to the sound of the river and the seagulls. The clouds, which could bring temporarely showers all around the day. The seagulls: cannot imagine this city without their shrilling voice. The murals, and books, the world's oldest bookstore is here for example, but Ler Devagar also worth a visit. And an old gentleman close to the Alfama, who just reminded me of a book character from one of the most famous portuguese writer. And to rest a little bit during your city walks you can relax with a small shot of ginja (sour cherry liqour), which belongs to Lisbon just like the above mentioned things.
