Here's a 1-color T-shirt design for the band Full Blown ChaosI started out with a super rough thumbnail sketch. This was done on a sheet of paper with pencil and pen. After I scanned the image, I started to build up some shadows using the graphite brush. Then I created a separate layer and began the inking process. First, drew the contour lines....Then I added some detail using the tapered brush.For the snake's skin I created a pattern in illustrator and used it to make a brush. Here it is after I added a shape in the background to tie it all together.I ultimately decided to change the eyes because they looked too "cartoony." Here are some details of the final illustration.
