I did two versions, landscape first and then portrait because I wanted to improve some things. I wasn’t happy with the mum (me) since I thought the colors in the picture didn’t make her the main thing, and also that her whole appearence was a bit boring. I wasn’t satisfied with the toys on the floor, but when I now compare the two pictures I think that the toys make the picture more interesting, but that the execusion is lacking. Would love your input!

I love this so much! Have commented before but it didn't seem to go through for some reason. How did you do the colours of the sofa??

@rosalindjane88 Thank you so much! :) it’s gouache, and if i remember correctly i used blue, black, white and a little bit of red and yellow. Then different amount of water to make the surface more interesting.

@jessie_salomonsson thank you!! I'm going to try and have a go. I have a very similar pink room, baby and green velvet sofa 🥰 xx
Ps I love the toys on the floor, way more realistic eh 🤪

Teacher PlusI love both of them! In the first image the mum look a bit sad - and the textures in the foliage behind her make her look a bit anxious or frustrated. In the second image the mum is more calm. I really do like both, the difference is so subtle.

They both look gorgeous. Its funny, I'm going to visit a friend who just had a baby later and thought I'd take a picture of them on her sofa to try and reproduce on paper!

@wishful_art_witch Thank you so much! That sounds lovely, such a wonderful thing - to get captured with your baby by someone else <3
