Carving this pattern in a lovely piece of Scottish red sandstone. I marked out the design using spherical geometry which I'm still learning.
I like to use my carvings as a way of documenting my learning process. This piece was a break through for me as I was able to accurately mark on the north and south poles as well as the equator. This opens up the possibility for far more completed geometric patterns in the future, which I'm excited about!
I think documenting your progression in learning is also a nice way for beginners to view their work. Each piece is a stepping stone in your learning and lovely to proudly look back and see how you've progressed
