This course really started a drawing habit for me.
I tried charcoal a few times and failed miserable. This course really helped me to finally improve and it even ignited a passion for charcoal.
Beside the materials from the course, I added a sock/sachet filled with fine charcoal powder, which I use to lay down a first foundation and also for background textures where I plan to use acetone.
Lately I also added liquid charcoal for some sort of underpainting (Tom) - I will need to experiment with this much more, but this adds an interesting new way - and it somehow blurs the gap between drawing and painting.
Thank you so much, Sarah Stokes!

Wow these are so beautiful. I absolutely love the merge of real and abstract. Those splashes in “Dave” are incredibly accomplished. Really wonderful work and I’m so chuffed that you now enjoy Charcoal!
