Mt. Rainier

I was commissioned to create a large thread painting of Mt. Rainier. This was, by far, the biggest commission I've ever endeavored upon! I began with a detailed sketch on the fabric and then started by stitching the mountain first. I worked with smaller hoops along the fabric and put it in the large hoop once it was complete.

PlusAs a Washingtonian who had a view of Mt. Rainer for years -- I salute you! Truly beautiful! I'm amazed at how embroidery has evolved from what I thought it was as a kid (GenX here).
