-You did really well with the shape portion, most students draw eyeballs, eye lashes and eyelids and then get frustrated when things don't work out they way they should. Shape is a major tool - check out:
It's nearly all about the shapes of dark around her eyes! You did good work here
The problems I have with your drawing are, 1, you must draw your "straight lines" by hand, because this is the only way to carve the forms of the human head like a sculptor; 2, you must study the mandible part of the human head more - the jaw, which is not working structurally at all (see pic) Practice drawing self portraits!
@danthompsonart Thanks for the feedback and compliments, I did all my straight lines by hand, except on the architectonic where I did used a ruler to emphasise the outer box shape. Believe it or not I have a steady hand and did use the academic stance at the start however my paper is quite rough so I had to go back to using my own method. I have an elastomer eraser that can make any hazy line look straight and have been sketching for a long time.
Wow! You have an extremely steady hand - and tools certainly help. I was really impressed by your attention to the crossing lines of the mouth. Don't forget to study the mandible, Nabil!
@danthompsonart will do! I will study the mandible in depth!. I'm also a rock and metal fan since my teenage years and am really impressed by your attention to detail and devotion to your art.
