Five international artists dedicate a dynamic, bursting, colorful and bright tribute to Fortunato Depero, the Wizard of Rovereto.
With this project, Jun Cen won the gold medal of Society of Illustrator and I got the best art director project award.
Fortunato Depero (Fondo 1892 - Rovereto 1960) was a total artist who was able to challenge every creative barrier, ranging from theater to advertising, from design to craftsmanship, experimenting with different techniques, materials and languages. The exhibition DEPERO the magician is dedicated to him, from 18 March to 2 July in the “Villa dei Capolavori” of the Magnani-Rocca Foundation in Mamiano di Traversetolo (PR).
A century later, his ironic and vibrant vitality continues to influence the ideas and work of designers from all over the world who study him, admire him as a master and carry on his innovative and nonconformist spirit.

Depero is Avantissimo - While a major exhibition celebrates the hyperactive talent of one of the most significant Italian artists of the twentieth century, five young international talents celebrate the immortal myth of Depero with #Avantissimo, a project curated by the creative studio Kreativehouse.
An idea that, in full futurist spirit, manages to live on different media, was born on the web but is also an installation in metal and plastic material and, at the same time, an exclusive capsule collection of designer bandanas.
The artists
Olimpia Zagnoli (Italy), Jun Cen (China / USA), Ale Giorgini (Italy), Gio Pastori (Italy), Roman Muradov (Russia) with the artistic direction of Cristian Grossi have created five original plates as a personal tribute to the Wizard of Rovereto and his voracious and multifaceted imagination. This is how, in full harmony with the posters of futurist fashion, contemporary art manages to overcome the traditional dimension of a museum image and becomes an object of everyday life, made with the materials of our era, embodied in action, play and movement to live and wear.

Gio Pastori is a paper and illustration artist. He was recently reported by Forbes among the most influential "30 under 30" in Europe. His talent is to be able to best express the personality of a subject or a concept through concise and direct means: clean graphic lines, simple geometries, colors and pieces of paper found around or self-produced. He collaborates with various realities in the publishing and fashion fields including Nike, Fendi, Amica, Vita.

Olimpia Zagnoli is the best known contemporary Italian illustrator. His illustrations of her have appeared on the pages of The New Yorker, La Repubblica, TIME, Marie Claire, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, The Guardian and New York Times. Her “bold” style of hers, as she defines it, is very recognizable and highly appreciated. She, the daughter of artists, recently together with her father launched the "Clodomiro" e-shop which offers objects designed by OZ, from t-shirts to scarves, to illustrated plates.

Ale Giorgini is an Italian illustrator, lecturer at the IED and at the International School of Comics and director of Illustri Festival, recognizable for his “geometric retro” style. Iconic images of him have been printed on t-shirts, posters, skateboards, cushions, lamps and other design items. He works for the most important clients in the advertising, publishing and comics sectors such as Disney, Puma, Emirates, Foot Locker, Warner Bros, Sony Pictures, Mondadori, Jeep, Wired Uk.

Roman Muradov is a Russian illustrator and cartoonist who now lives in San Francisco. He has worked for major editorial publications around the world including the New Yorker, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Penguin, Random House, Vogue, Time, NPR, GQ, Washington Post. His tables are refined stories full of quotes from the world of art and literature.

Jun Cen is a talented illustrator and video artist from Guangzhou, China who now lives and works in New York. His tables, delicate dream compositions full of references to his culture of origin, have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The Verge, Grantland, Oxford University Press, ELLE Men China.
