Before taking the course I was familiar with making patterns but it wasn’t my main area. I designed them sometimes for my clients’ projects (I’m a freelance designer), so they were always created just for particular items.
I’d like to try myself in something new which, maybe, would become a part of my life, and Allison shared in this course so much valuable experience, which, I’m sure, will help me and many other artist and designers, cause presenting our work, building portfolio and knowing the rules of licensing process is one more step for a dream job. I’m very thankful for these knowledges and can’t wait to start my way in a patterns-world!
In this project I just wanted to relax, learn new things and have fun, so the main theme of it is one of my favourite and the friendliest animals in the world - capybara. They live in South America, which is associating with bright colors and beautiful nature. One funny thing: few days before uploading a final result I visited a page with course projects and noticed one more work with capys and plants, the probability seemed to be almost zero before it, but we probably connected to the same inspiration-source :)
I really enjoyed the process, learned some new ways of making even complex pattern easier and hope to improve my skill with future projects.
