También te da miedo pintar manos? Yo pensaba que no me asustaba pintar manos y pies, típico que se escucha siempre... hasta que tenía que dibujar manos y pies. He hecho multitud de bocetos en el pasado copiando de dibujantes como Hogarth, Durero o Da Vinci, pero cuando tenía que enfrentarme a una pintura en la que había manos, parecía como si se me olvidase todo y acababa pintando patatas con salchichillas!

En 2020 empecé a pintar a diario, de todo: ojos, orejas, flores, comida... y manos.
Me di cuenta de que da igual lo que pintes, todo se puede tratar igual a la hora de pintar:

pintamos volúmenes que interactúan con la luz de cierta manera, da igual que esos volúmenes sean manos, flores o cucharas.

Cuando me di cuenta de ésto comencé con composiciones donde hubiera manos sin que fueran el foco principal. Tras unas cuantas pinturas la gente me empezaba a decir que lo que le gustaba de las pinturas eran las manos jaja, no el resto. Así que se me fue el miedo definitivamente y aunque sí, son difíciles porque tienes que aprender a comprender lo que estás viendo en tus referencias, son como cualquier otra cosa :)

Are you also scared of painting hands? I used to think that I wasn't too worried about painting hands and feet, as you always hear... until I had to paint them. I have made many many sketches and master copies studying Hogarth, Dürer or Da Vinci, but whenever I had to face a painting with hands on it, it looked like I forgot everything I knew about them and I ended up painting potatoes with sausages!

In 2020 I started painting daily, a bit of everything: eyes, ears, flowers, food... and hands. I realised that no matter what you paint, everything can be painted similar:

we paint just volumes that interact with light in a certain way, no matter if those volumes are hands, flowers or spoons.

When I realised about this I started painting larger compositions in which hands were part of them, but not the focus. After some paintings people started telling me they liked the hands haha, not the rest! So the fear went away and although hands are difficult to paint because you have to learnt to see what you're watching at in a reference, they're like every other object :)
