Oceanids II is part of my internationally awarded project Dones d’Aigua, a collection of subtle and delicate handmade pieces that contain expressive feminine figures emerging from an aquatic environment. Since the beginning, the project has been exploring, in a special and suggestive way, concepts such as surrealism, visual poetry and feminism.
I came across the idea of experimenting with transparency and blur, establishing different levels of perception and bringing depth to the pieces by combining materials such as threads, fabrics, feathers, cardboard and plastic pieces inside a wooden box. After that, a layer of plastic does the magic, offering a delicate blur, sensation full of surprising nuances. Through this process, I'm able to generate ethereal and dreamlike atmospheres.

All my artworks are tridimensional handmade pieces. Once finished, I frame them using a special museum glass that avoids light reflections. Thus, each art piece keeps the whole sense of depth and tridimensionality.

After trimming, I paint the characters included in my artworks using acrylics and coloured pencils.

Influenced by the myth of the Oceanids, the Greek sea nymphs, my newest pieces are odes to femininity, motherhood, love, and nature for their importance in recovering inner peace and harmony in our lives.

Once finished, my artworks were exhibited at the Affordable Art Fair Bruxelles 2023, represented by the Spanish art gallery Espai Cavallers.
