PRACTICE
Drawing from life versus imagination
I had never done this exercise and it was super interesting.

The grid method

Initially I did a drawing in charcoal but the paper did not agree with a bit of stumping and I made a mess, I painted over in acrylics for that reason.
The silhouette is not quite the same, it got a bit changed during painting. Also, the lighthouse tone is incorrect. It shouldn't be lighter than the sky. I'm just noticing now :D
Copying shapes
That one was a brain killer but it was super interesting (albeit a bit frustrating!). By the end of it I got a bit more systematic approach, somewhat square-based, and manipulating more fluently halves, thirds and fifths. I'll have to do it again at some point.
