I love fish! They come in endless varieties in shape and colour. So, I chose a fish, a picture of a gurnard, made by the wonderful photographer David Loftus.
When I was busy doing my first fish, I didn't want to stop. So my second and third drawing are from the same picture, but in a slightly different way of using the possibilities of the oil pastels.
In the first one, I was very careful to make a real fish. I used white colorpencil to create a sort of smooth surface.
In the second one, I made a more loose approach of using the pasels.
The third one, I used a different colorpalet and minimilised the strokes to get a more 2-dimensional effect.
