I started with the lovers and include notes and early drafts, trying to find a way to convey the union/balance of opposite forces. The tower (also called storm) was a bit more of a struggle, I played with the drowning/wave theme for a while but got stuck and had to take a break. I actually worked with “Picture This” by Molly Bang and found my way to a scarier image, the person dropping into the serpent’s mouth—I felt like this worked much better for what I wanted to convey. Death came from my experience with depression living in Alaska. LOVED this course, you are the best Adolfo!

Teacher PlusWoow what strength and what pictorial character. I am passionate about being able to see your journey in this project through the processes, ideas, sketches and your experimentations until you reach the final arcana. I love the line and composition and the powerful use that you have given to colors to capture the emotions or feelings associated with each card.
You can see the strength and the expressive and powerful line. And the three cards work as a whole, each being independent and varying in colors, they work together.
I like to see that you have applied various pictorial techniques proposed in the course. brilliant!!
And it makes me very happy to know that you have enjoyed the course, that you have learned and that it has taken you to new places.
I think you could develop the whole deck playing with these ideas and color contrasts as you have done with these cards.
Thank you very much for being part of the domestika community and for joining my course! And thank you for your words dedicated to me as a teacher. It encourages me a lot !!! : D
If you feel into it!! I also have a course about Children´s Illustration.
