Art project.
Materials:
415 x 295mm 300 g/m2 watercolor paper
Dark Tea water Leaves of dark tea (used to dye the paper and make color texture)
Assorted used teabags
Mod Podge (to cover and protect)
Teaspoon
Sachet of sugar
Piece of chocolate
Indian Ink
Calligraphy pen with different metal nibs.
Through the teabags that two people took along the most important timeline points in their relationship I am documenting their rise and fall as a couple.
In order to have a vintage look similar to naturalist collections of 19th Century, I’ve dyed the blank original paper with the water and leaves of a dark tea and tagged every piece with calligraphic letters.
I’ve used old calligraphy pen with metal nibs and Indian ink in order to have a most credible look and
the collection is inside a folded paper as a Teas Menu ready to be open and discovered.
My artwork explains the story of this couple and the kind of tea they have taken together from the beginning until the end of their relationship: from the first date when they take Chaï Tea until the end, when one of the members run away with the teapot and the other –in a gesture of rejection due the pain– substitutes tea for chocolate.
It is no coincidence that the First Important Argue is documented with two wrinkled teabags of two different kinds of tea.
This collection shows only one teaspoon and a sachet of sugar because it is explained only by one part of the couple, the part that supposedly owns this collection.
This collection can be touched, heard (the sugar has a sound when you shake the cabinet) and can be smelled because every teabag and the chocolate smells ;)
I hope you enjoy.
