Cosy Winter | Domestika Time-lapse

This artwork was created for a process time-lapse video as promotion for my Domestika course. The resulting clip is only a minute long but the full artwork process actually took over 3 hours to complete.

I wanted to depict something warm and seasonal, with a rich and cosy winter palette. Reading is a favourite hobby of mine, especially during the quiet winter months, so in this piece I tried to evoke a little of the magic of getting lost in a good book.

The artwork was painted entirely in Adobe Photoshop, using an initial sketch and colour palette. This piece demonstrates all the principles of colour, readability, texture and lighting that I discuss during the course.
