This Vimeo file is my first, and only attempt at stop motion.
The arms and bodess were created in cardboard, photographed each slight movement in sequence then in photoshop layered on top of the background. OH the HOURS spent to make seconds in motion!

Teacher Pluslove the material and patterns on this character! - very cool technique. I'd be very interested to know more about the backstory of this creation!

@nathanjurevicius Nathan - This course is really terrific...you give so much supportive resources and information!
I so much appreciate you giving so much to teach--its impressive! Thank you!!!
This a cardboard 3D construction that I made as I lived in Cairo for many years! The black and white pattern is silkscreened Arab Graphic Design collaged on top of the form. What I found so interesting living in Egypt were the layers of culture one on top of the other--Pharonic, Arab, Modern Day....and my point of view is that all moments are happening simultaneously---NOW!
I was working on this wonky story about a Pharaoh that discovers a rose springing up between the Pharaoh's Toes....He ends up jumping into the Nile to talk to a Lotus Blossom where she lives....The Cartouche is his Diving Mask!!!! Ha Ha! The eyes open and close and move back and forth!

Teacher Plus@cosima_lukas Love where that story is going!! Very original.
Thanks for posting the other works too - I like viewing the collection and enjoy the technique. Also happy to hear you're finding the course useful too :)

@nathanjurevicius I had this idea of allowing the Land speak through the materials of collage. I worked like a mystic reading tea leaves or coffee cups seeing into the matrix of accumulated bits of paper. What I found was a FOOT!
The Foot of Pharaoh, of course!!! With a Rose that emerged from between the Pharoah's Toes.
AND, She spoke to him!
This opened up all kinds of things about smelling (stinking?)
Words came too! Like; Whiffing a Niff, Chortling a Snort....among other comments around the sense of smell!
There came characters imbedded in the areas of his toes.....which I animated with the massive help of someone who became a friend, Jon Hassib!
I have uploaded the video file this morning to Vimeo, created from this Collage, although cant get it to load here on Domestica!
I'm so pleased to have found you Nathan.
Finally someone to talk to about all that happened creatively.

Teacher Plus@cosy ah, very nice process explanation and it's wonderful to see that the seed of an idea based on a rose between toes takes you down a long path of smell-based story-lines. thanks for sharing :)
