Design Studio 4 was the final design studio of the degree. The task was to design an archive inspired by post-Cold war and it’s relation with Manchester.
The archive is dedicated to ABC Wax Print - Manchester’s connection with West Africa. The iconic wax prints have been designed in Manchester since the 19th Century, producing over 35,000 prints. Being one of the most popular fabrics in West Africa due to its beautiful designs and its affordable prices.
The gallery would exhibit rare fabrics from ABC Wax, mannequins displaying various West African styles and other African arts and poetry inspired by the Wax prints.
