Hello Silja, thank you so much about this course. I particularly loved the fact that you provided a few 'formulas' to use (Garland, Silhouette, etc...). It makes me want to try one of each, and I definitely will. For this exercise, I chose "Anna Karenina". I haven't read the book but I googled the synopsis and symbolism of the story. The train was obviously a huge symbol. I really really wanted to show some kind of romance, so I introduced the shape of her lover in the steam... I find it makes the visual a bit busy but I without him, I thought it wouldn't be intriguing enough. Anyways, a GREAT exercise. I can't wait to try some more. Thank you very much -I LOVE your work :)
Hi Annabelle! What can I say? This is GORGEOUS! Beautiful colors, beautiful composition, perfect design! A modern interpretation of a classic! I particularly like the overlapping of the train and tower with her body. It reminds me of graphic art from the thirties, also the russian avantgarde.
