Live Art with Ronaldo Fraga: Modernists and diversity in Brazil

Ronaldo Fraga is known for his contributions to literature, theater, and music, as well as his interest in and research on Brazilian traditions, such as passarela. In addition to being a fashion designer, he is also an illustrator and, in this Live, he will design clothes and environments inspired by Mário de Andrade and Flávio de Carvalho, two modernists who became symbols of sexual diversity in Brazil during the first half of the 20th century. During this tribute to The Modern Art Week of 1922, a fundamental event in Brazil’s avant-garde movement, he talks about the country’s LGBTQ+ history and the community’s fight for equal rights.
