Citlalli Parra
A course by Citlalli Parra
Citlalli Parra is a Mexican multidisciplinary artist based in San Miguel de Allende whose work focuses on textile art, sustainable materials, and traditional techniques. Inspired by nature and ancestral cultures, she blends contemporary aesthetics with artisanal processes, often collaborating with master artisans from different regions of Mexico.
After discovering traditional weaving during a trip to Chiapas, she began developing her own textile practice, exploring natural fibers, hand weaving, and natural dyes. Her work has been exhibited at the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico and featured in publications such as Architectural Digest and Maison Côté Sud. Currently, she continues researching natural and pre-Hispanic pigments with the guidance of chemist and specialist Sara Pineda, reinforcing her commitment to sustainability and the preservation of Mexico’s cultural heritage.
