Learn 3D modelling alternative techniques and methods to create a kraken
In the world of 3D modeling, specialists give life not only to human figures and figures but also to creatures from a science fiction or video game movie. Luis Gayoso - 3D generalist - specializes in the creation of fantastic characters and has more than 15 years of experience as a digital artist and, since 2014, he has been devoted entirely to the design of creatures, and in this course he invites you to give your first steps in digital sculpture.
Designed to lose your fear of ZBrush, because you do not need to be an expert to get great results, Luis will teach you in this course a simple methodology to design and model an kraken .
What's included in this course?
You will start by meeting Luis Gayoso, who will tell you about his artistic training, his love of videogames and how all this led him to the world of designing and modeling creatures in 3D. You will know their main references and their motivations to be a digital artist as it is today.
Luis will give you a general introduction to ZBrush and will explain in detail the most important software tools. You will learn to configure the interface to work at ease and use it with confidence.
Next, you will start the development of the course project: model an kraken . You will begin to collect visual references to elaborate a conceptual proposal. Then, you will learn to create a draft of your sculpture using basic shapes and volumes, and then define the silhouette and proportion of your model by means of blocking .
Once you have your draft defined, Luis will give you a brief analysis of the human and animal anatomy, in order to structure the model and define the most important anatomical features between the head, the torso and the different extremities.
Then, you will learn the techniques and automatic tools that will help you add details and "microdetails" to your model, and to give an incredible finish, Luis will teach you some simple methods to create an environment for your creature, achieving a more interesting composition.
To finish, you will work your model in a software of shading and lighting called Keyshot, in which you can configure the light, the material and achieve a high quality render.
What is this course project about?
You will make a proposal for an kraken , taking as a starting point the kraken of Clash of the Titans. At the end of the course you will be able to propose and structure your own fantastic creature.
Who is it for?
This course is aimed at modelers, illustrators and amateurs who wish to learn alternative methods and techniques to the conventional, both for those who start or those who already have experience.
To complete the course you will need to know how to use basic 2D or 3D design software, since Luis will teach you step by step the process of creating your creature.
What materials do you need? You will need to have a computer with ZBrush 2018.1 and Keyshot installed.
