Light is the key to good photography and achieving the right lighting is an art that Zony Maya, a photographer with more than 20 years of experience, masters to perfection. His work has been part of publications such as National Geographic, New York Magazine or Vanity Fair, exhibitions at the Guggenheim Museum in New York and the Foto Museo Cuatro Caminos de México, as well as publications and events of the Canon brand, of which he is ambassador . Zony will teach you the basic principles to learn how to illuminate with flash hand, from scratch.
In this course you will learn the basics of flash lighting with hand and some tricks to set up your own studio low cost with everyday elements.
About this course
You will begin knowing the trajectory of Zony Maya, his passion for photography and the visual references that have most impacted him professionally.
Immediately you will enter the world of light, its nature, how it travels, how it bounces and you will know the difference between continuous light and flashlight, as well as between hard and diffuse light.
Then, you will know the seven types of basic lighting that every photographer must take into account and the usefulness of each one.
Zony will explain what the flash is, how it works, the different types that exist and you will see how you can control it perfectly and even how to combine it with continuous light.
You will see how to turn your house or space into a photography studio with everyday items such as fruits, kitchen utensils and stationery. First you will learn about what are the rebounds, the diffusers and the flags, their function and then Zony will explain how to create yours.
To finish, you will learn how to illuminate an object by combining the flash with natural light, to obtain high quality results with a simple element.

Zony Maya is a Mexican photographer and visual artist. He has a degree in Communication from the Universidad Iberoamericana, the Active School of Photography and the Academy of Visual Arts, and is passionate about photography and video to develop his projects.
He received a Fellow grant from the Fulbright-García Robles Scholarship and a Master's Degree in Photography, Video and Media at the School of Visual Arts in New York. His work has gone through the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum of New York, the European Biennial of Contemporary Art "Manifesta 11" in Switzerland, and the XIII Biennial of Photograph of the Image Center in Mexico.
He has collaborated with brands such as Nestlé, Bimbo, Puma, GNP and Palacio de Hierro, and with publications such as National Geographic, New York Magazine, Vanity Fair, Glamor, and Gatopardo.
He currently shares his knowledge, giving workshops and conferences in different countries of America, Asia and the Middle East, and is an ambassador for the Canon brand and founder of the Maya-Barrón Grant.
