Develop a visual particle system that interacts with a webcam, to produce an art installation with projection.

## Requirements and materials

No prior experience is necessary.

All you need is a computer, either Windows or Mac, and a webcam. A video projector is used in the final project, but it is optional.

### Introduction

Hi! Welcome, and thank you for choosing this Domestika course. 

In this first unit, I will walk you through my personal journey to my influences and the professional work I do with my studio.

### Discovering Creative Coding

I will teach you how to install openFrameworks and create your first program in this unit. I will show you the creative potential of openFrameworks. Then it will be your turn to code! You will see how to install the necessary programs to use openFrameworks and cover the basics of programming. Finally, I will write a few lines of code and run the first program.

### The Basics of Programming

During this unit, you will learn the basics of programming. Variables, functions, and conditions are the foundation and will allow you to create more advanced and expressive visuals.

### The Visuals

It's time to develop your programming knowledge in order to create richer and more complex visuals. Then, you will study the techniques to animate shapes. Next, you'll explore concepts of loops and classes, they allow the program to easily repeat shapes and visual effects. Finally, you will learn to apply your programming knowledge to create a particle system.

### Interactivity

In this unit, you will learn to add interactivity with the movement of the audience with the webcam. Then I will teach you how to plan your interactive installation with projection.
