### Introduction

Hi, my name is Natália Dias and I'm an illustrator. I want to welcome you and thank you for being here!

 In this unit, you'll learn about the main stages of my personal career as an artist and some of the work I've done related to character design. In addition, I will talk about other artists in the area who influence my creative process.

### Tools, proportions and gestures

In this unit, I will talk about some theoretical notions that will be important for character creation, such as anatomy, gestures, facial expressions and colors. By studying these topics, it will be easier for you to carry out your course project.

### Research and drafts

Starting from this unit, I will start creating a character that will serve as an example so that you can make your own as a course project. I'll go through every step of the process, from idea to completion.

### Digital painting

In this unit, I will show two ways of painting, a simpler one with lineart and a more elaborate one without lineart. I will focus mainly on painting the skin, eyes, hair and also applying textures to clothes. Finally, I will talk about portfolio and how I set up my project.
