### Introduction

Hello! Welcome to this Domestika course, and thanks for joining me!

Have you ever been curious about working in miniature? In this unit, I’ll tell you about myself and some of the reasons I really enjoy working on a microscale. From there, I’d love to introduce you to some works of art that have influenced my creative practice regarding miniature bookmaking.

### Materials and Essential Concepts

In this unit, you will familiarize yourself with the tools, materials, and terminology I will be using while also learning the basics of how to format the pages of a book and how to choose the right paper for your project.

### The Design: From Idea to Paper

Let’s get to work! In this unit, I will begin brainstorming what I want the contents of my book to be about before making a miniature. I will show you how to make a softcover sketchbook so that I can start to sketch my ideas in.

### Making a Hardcover Book

Now that I have finished my prototype, I will work on my project for the course: a hardcover copy of my book. I’ll guide you through the steps of making this type of mini book so that you can learn the techniques and use them for your own book.

### Sharing and Developing Your Work

You’ve finished your tiny book, now what do you do with it? This unit will cover how to take care of your micro creation, how you can display it, and possible ideas for taking this process further.
