Hello! My name is Sonia and I welcome you to this Domestika course. Thank you for choosing it, I'm glad you are here!

 If you want to approach the world of handmade paper or if you have already experimented with this technique, you are in the right place. I will be happy to share with you what I have learned over the years about the world of handmade paper, but above all I will give you the tools to start your personal journey in this beautiful world!

### Paper and frames

In this unit we will prepare everything needed to produce a stationery set consisting of cards and envelopes. But first we will discover the fascinating history of paper and we will see together some characteristics of this versatile material. Finally, we will make an easy-to-build frame together.

### The processing of the sheet of paper

Then we will get to the heart of the course and we will see step by step how to produce a sheet of artisan paper starting from the creation of the dough up to the processing in the vat with the frame that we have built. We will then see the processing steps that follow the formation of the sheet, i.e. pressing and drying.

### Envelope processing

Now we will dedicate ourselves to the envelope, a very important element within the stationery set. The envelope requires extra steps for its realization, in fact a special frame is required. Once the envelope is finished, it will also be folded and glued. Although the envelope takes longer to produce, you will see that the final result will be really satisfying!

 In this unit, I will also talk to you about paper coloring and a couple of creative techniques for creating truly unique envelopes. Finally, I'll show you how to decorate the envelope with sealing wax.
