About the final project for: Modern Design Strategies for Visual Branding

Modern Design Strategies for Visual Branding

“Congratulations! You have reached the end of this Domestika course. Thank you so much for enrolling and we hope you found it useful! Before saying goodbye, let's review the necessary steps to complete your project. Always remember to take the following points into consideration when working with brands: Research the Brand First, decide on a brand that you would like to develop an identity for. Choose something that interests you and offers a good service or product. Avoid any big brands like Coca-Cola, Nike, Adidas, etc. Once you've chosen your brand, start researching! Follow the process we demonstrated in Unit 3 to get to the heart of the brand. You can compile any useful information into the app Figma or use another preferred method. Develop the Brand Strategy When you've finished researching, it's time to condense everything you've collected! Filter out the key information to produce concise brand values. We recommend limiting these to three to five words, as this will streamline your strategy going forward. Then, summarize the brand purpose in one to two sentences: Why does this brand exist? What does it want to communicate? And how does it want to present itself and form a connection with its audience? Who is the audience? Boiling down your research to extract these key concepts is very important, as it will inform how you move forward.

Make a Mood Board Gather visual inspiration related to the information you've collected thus far. Then, collect your favourite visuals in one place and develop your mood board. Use the content that truly inspires you, as this will be the flame behind your creative direction. However, don't restrict your ideas because of it. Try out many things before you settle with the concept you are comfortable with.
Create the Brand Identity Next, it's time to start visualizing the brand identity! Transform all of your abstract ideas into concrete visuals. Following our guidance in Unit 4, develop your visual language to create posters, badges, UI designs, sweaters, and more. This step is very important in shaping the brand identity and turning it into something more tangible. That way, both you and the client can see how it would manifest in the real world.
Present Your Work By now, all your hard work should have produced amazing results. So, let's show it to the client! Use the tips we shared to present the brand identity. At this stage, you should aim to show how the different elements connect: your brand strategy and your visuals. Think of the brand as a personality where the visuality, the communication, and all the other aspects form one interconnected entity. Finally, impose your work on several mock-ups to complete your presentation. We can't wait to see what fantastic work you produce! You can share your project with all of us by clicking on 'Create your project'. Remember to share both the final result and the steps that have led you to it. It would be great if you showed a picture of each step and added a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. We want to see your strategy, mood board, visual language, layout examples, and the presentation of your final brand identity. We will try our best to engage with the forum as much as possible. If you have any questions, be sure to ask them! We will reply as soon as we can, but in the meantime, we encourage you to interact with each other. As you know, we are big fans of collaboration! We believe that communication fuels creativity. So, don't be afraid to reach out and collaborate with others, and share your work. See you in the forum! ”
