## Requirements and materials

Basic drawing skills are nice to have but are not necessary.

### Introduction

Hello! In this unit, I will introduce myself and explain a little bit of my history and how I got here. I’ll talk about my experience as a professional illustrator, what have I done, and what clients I have worked with. Then I’ll talk about my influences in chronological order and how they have changed and shaped me as an illustrator. Finally, we will talk about what we are going to do in this course and about our final project.

### Training Your Eye

In this unit we will start by finding references to help to create your idea and later on
visualize your idea into thumbnail sketches and choose and draw the final sketch of what we´ll use as the base to create the final artwork. Before sketching we’ll go through some fundamentals of composition and color which will help you to create a balanced composition and guide your selection of colors.

### Let’s Draw Vectors

In this unit, we will create step by step our artwork in the Adobe Illustrator. We´ll start by drawing the main elements, adding details, and then applying the colors and finally finishing our illustration by adding gradients, shadows, and highlights. Before exporting the illustration we´ll clean up the illustrations and check any possible mistakes and refine the composition if necessary.

### Optional Finishing Touches and Exporting Your Work

Adding some optional textures to achieve a more organic look and exporting our illustration to be used online or in print.
