Artist Marcela Scheid Stars in this Domestika Diary
Artist and Graphic Designer Marcela Scheid shows us around her work space, talks about some of her work and explores her creative routine
Marcela Scheid (@marcelascheid) is an artist whose work focuses on the feminine and the vulnerable. She often uses gouache, but also likes collage, digital illustration and mixed media. She uses a range of techniques to create work that many women see as an invitation to self-reflection.
Marcela shows us around her work space, talks about some of her work and explores her creative routine in this edition of the Domestika Diary.
Reflection and inspiration
For Marcela, art is a way of expressing things she hasn’t found the words for yet, it’s a process of self-knowledge. And it’s a conversation with women who identify with the themes she addresses in her work. Lockdown has been a time of intense change that she needed to assimilate and work into her art, in order to get her head around things.

Visual poetry
Words and images combine in her work, to come to life in a range of formats and media, including bags and fashion collections. She develops this kind of project collaboratively (in co-labs). Her website includes an online store where you can buy some of her fine art prints.
