Domestika Diaries: Juliana Mota
Embroiderer, designer and illustrator: Juliana Mota shares her routine and creative approach to free embroidery
Juliana Mota (@juliana_mota) graduated in design and has worked in various fields, including magazines, books and packaging. Free embroidery allowed her to discover a new form of artistic expression, which that gives her illustrations more life. Her handiwork makes every piece a unique creation designed to cause emotion and stimulate the conscious consumption of handmade products.
In this Domestika Diary, we accompany her in her daily routine and creative process. Don’t miss it:
Juliana spends the day in her studio, where she creates all her projects. Although it’s generally a bit of a mess, she always finishes the day by tidying up, ready to start the next day with a clear head.
As well as creating embroidery, Juliana illustrates and sells her designs, so she spends a good part of the day managing her online store, answering emails, sending orders and packaging her customer’s purchases. She always makes a To Do Tomorrow list before going to bed.
