Established in 1986 La Luz de Jesus Gallery is the brainchild of entrepreneur and art collector Billy Shire, considered primarily responsible for fostering a new school of California art and prompting JUXTAPOZ Magazine to dub him “the Peggy Guggenheim of Lowbrow.”
La Luz De Jesus Gallery presents its annual juried group exhibition, Everything but the Kitschen Sync. This gigantic, no-theme show features works from some of the freshest and most relevant artists working today.
The curators sorted through tens of thousands of submissions from commercial illustrators, graphic designers, tattooists, scenics, students, street taggers, animators and working gallery artists.
Charles Glaubitz (@mrglaubitz), teacher of the Domestika course Narrative Techniques for Graphic Novels, will be participating. Charles Gaubitz is a Mexican multidisciplinary artist who develops his work in commercial illustration, plastic arts, and comics. He has created comics such as Starseeds or Once Upon a Time in Tijuana, among others. His work was recognized as one of American Best Comics in 2012.
There are over 160 pieces from over 70, continuing the tradition of the most exclusive selection of salon-style exhibited works in Post-Pop. There are some familiar names from our ever-growing roster of feature artists, alongside a promising batch of previously undiscovered, emerging talent.
