Every 19 April is Simpsons Day, but true Simpsons fans do it every day, not only by watching Simpsons episodes over and over again, but also by referring to the animated series all the time. Who doesn't have a friend whose every moment in life reminds them of a Simpsons episode? Without a doubt, the Simpsons family's animated series is one of the most popular and popular series in the world.

Without a doubt, the series of the family made up of Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart and Maggie is the most famous in the world of animation. Since its appearance in 1989, it has broken all records and received countless awards. Although the first episode aired on 17 December 1987, the first television appearance of the family was on 19 April 1987, in the short Good Night on The Tracey Ullman Show. As a result, Simpsons Day is celebrated every year on this date.

On the occasion of this celebration, today we are going to tell you about a curious fact that you may not have known, the possible origin of Homer Simpson. To tell this story, we have to move in time and space.

We are now in Sweden in 1920. During that time, cartoonist Oscar Jacobsson created a comic called Adamson, which first appeared on 17 October of that year in the Swedish comic publication Söndags-Nisse. The main character was Adamson, a man who bears a very suspicious resemblance to the well-known Homer Simpson.

It is not known exactly whether Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons, was familiar with these comic strips, which came to the United States under the name Silent Sam, but the resemblance between the two characters is indisputable.

Perhaps, if we imagine, Matt Groening once came across a magazine in which this drawing appeared and it was unconsciously engraved in his memory forever, or perhaps it is just a coincidence and we can imagine Adamson as an ancestor of Homer Simpson.

What we have no doubt about is that the design of animated characters is highly influenced by everything we receive throughout our lives and it is not unusual for a coincidence like this to happen.
