Tips for taking care of your jewelry and for natural methods cleaning
Learn how to take care of your jewels and how to clean them at home with natural methods.
Here are some tips to prevent your jewels from scratches and oxidation.
Follow them to take care of your favorite pieces no matter the metal they’re made of (brass, silver, copper, bronze etc.)

General guidelines for metal care
-
1st - Remove your jewelry during physical activity to prevent scratches or abrasions on the surface (gardening, exercise, housekeeping…)
-
2nd - Avoid direct sunlight
-
3rd - Avoid contact with chemicals: remember to use perfumes, make up, hand creams before wearing your jewelry to prevent spots and oxidation
-
4th - Store your jewels in a box or a soft bags to prevent scratches

Rain & humidity
If you are wearing your jewels and it starts raining, remember to dry them with a soft cloth as soon as you can to avoid stains or oxidation.
Pool, sea, ocean
Do not expose jewelry to chlorinated water for this reacts negatively with a lot of jewelry.
I also recommend to take off your jewelry before swimming in the sea or ocean. Salt is very corrosive for metals…and shiny metals might attract some unwanted sea creatures!
Natural cleaning
You won’t believe how easy it is to clean your jewelry at home using natural ingredients! You will just need a few things you probably already have in your pantry:
LEMON
BAKING SODA
WATER
VINEGAR
SALT
If you have some of these ingredients follow one of the 3 recipes I prepared for you! You will find them in the PDF! :) And don’t forget to let me know which one is our favorite!

For I am not a vinegar fan, my favorite method is to mix lemon juice with baking soda to create a little paste that I then apply to the metal surface, using also a toothbrush to remove heavy stains.
You can add more lemon juice to make the paste liquid if the stains are very dark or difficult to remove, and let the pieces sit for 30 minutes or more.

If you like, share the result in the forum. Take a picture before and after the process and let me know if you have any doubts or questions!
