Introducción
There are spaces built to be full.
Beti Jai, in Madrid, is one of them.
The last historic frontón still standing in the city, built in 1894 for a game and a crowd, then left in silence for almost a century.
I entered that emptiness with a single body, the dancer Beatriz de Paz.
One presence inside an architecture made for hundreds. Her movement reads what the space still holds: the memory of the game, the scale of the absence, the silence of a place that once was full.

The Empty Court
The court is still. Beatriz de Paz walks into it alone.
Where players once moved with speed and force, she moves slowly, following the lines the game left behind.
She stays small against the wall. Against her, the frontón turns immense.
Beti Jai was built to be full. A space made for hundreds, read through one body.
She does not perform. She inhabits the silence, and for a moment the crowd comes back.
The architecture keeps the memory. The body returns it to the present.
