My project for course: Data Visualization and Information Design: Create a Visual Model

My concept for this project was to compare changes in human rights to access to the internet, to see what kind of patterns or relationships emerged.
As the concept sketch above shows, I initially planned to use data on the human rights index and data on the number of Internet users – both available from The World in Data. But I realised that there were many countries where people had good access to the Internet, but where the information they could access was heavily controlled (China and Russia being the most obvious examples).

So, for my final visualisation, I used the change over time of 'Freedom on the Net' country scores as the measure of whether people in each country had more or less access to a free Internet.
