Bennett Street Tool Chest
This tool chest was quite a challenge, and typically for me it took quite some time over a period of years, from finding the mahogany timber, recycled from an old table at auction, to rough dimensioning, followed by a long break until I finally resolved to get on with it and set about making the case, half-blind dovetailed drawers, door and so on. I learned a lot from the experience and now I feel much less intimidated by bigger projects. It is now in my garage workshop where it looks pretty and stored tools which are not so often used. I have now made a Dutch tool chest which is far more useful on a daily basis. I realise that for years I focused upon acquiring tools rather than using them to their full potential. When I look at the workshops of people whose work I admire I have noticed that there are not so many tools but each has its place in the work.
